Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks (First impressions & Swatches)

So I went a bit crazy on one of my two last trips for makeup on CVS (which is rare in me, yeah) and I found these gems called lipsticks on a display. And what could they have so special about that I had to buy the last bunch there? Simple, they’re from the Katy Perry’s line for Cover Girl: Katy Katย Matte.

They were just these 5 colors left. Guess they’re that good to be gone… anyways, the packaging is very minimalist, that’s what got my attention. Then when I tried them home, I actually loved them!

This line of lipstick actually comes in 11 colors, but I could buy just 5. They’re labeled as matte, but they’re actually demi-matte. I notice they have a bit of satin mixed up, but they actually are mote on the matte side.

They’re very creamy and some of them are a bit sheer, but nothing you cannot work with.

Aren’t they gorgeous?

One of the things I loved from them at first sight, besides the packaging, is that they come sealed, so you don’t have to worry about getting a used lippie:

The sticker will also not leave glue leftovers, so it won’t ruin the beauty of the white cap, which is a plus because I hate packaging with glue stickiness that becomes gray with dirt (yuck).

Time to show off theย 5 shades I bought:

From top left, clockwise: Crimson Cat (KP05), Sphinx (KP01), Cat Call (KP 06), Magenta Minx (kp03) and Pink Paws (KP02).

Be aware that the gloominess of the natural light that day made the lipsticks to come out a bit darker than how they look in person. You will notices their colors are softer, but adorable anyways.

They’re regular lipsticks, so if you’re a lipstick junkie like me (that carries like 50 in her purse) you won’t hate touch ups.

And of course, last but not least, the swatches:

Have you tried these? Did you like them? Which do you recommend me from the colors not mentioned here? Let me know with a comment! I would love to see your thoughts on them!

    • Ah so cute you’re name is Katy! Are you in Europe? I thought CG was there too… I liked the cat themed names too, that makes them more appealing, right? ๐Ÿ˜€
