Hello! Here I am again, this time with the content of my Glam Bag for this month, before the month ends (I received my bag like a week and a half ago, but the PC problems I had made me totally forgot about it).
This is the content I received at a glance:
The theme for this month was “All eyes on you“, to which I did not pay attention before in the 2 years and so I’ve been a subscriber. It seems like the bag was curated to create a complete eye look. Not sure if it has been the same all this time, but it was not my favorite this month at the beginning. Why?
Lets start with this fact: 2 eye pencils in the same bag. I have one of the drawers in my organizer FULL of lip and eye pencils that I rarely use (except for the lip liners, I use those more as matte lipsticks all over my lips). So when I took a look to the sneak peek, it was such a turn off!
But then when I actually received the bag and had the pencils in my hands, something pushed me to give them a try, as I sincerely wanted to love them.
And I am SO GLAD I did! At least for the first pencil I tried, the UNIVERSAL EYEBROW PENCIL by OFRA Cosmetics (shown above). I was a bit skeptical about this shade, because it looks more like a light brown at first sight. My eyebrows are as dark as my soul, so when I started to applying it and building it up, I could not believe that this color was actually blending so well with my brows!
Here are quick swatches of it. Sorry for sucky kind of!
Both of these pics were taken indoors. I could not snap a pic of them outside, I didn’t think of it when it was sunny (d’uh!).
So I am definitely using this regularly when I don’t feel to do my brows with the powder I currently use.
Now we have Mr. Write (Now) Eye Pencil by The Balm Cosmetics in Jack B. Bronze. It is sort of a metallic taupe:
Here are the quick swatches of this pencil:
As you can see, it really is a gorgeous metallic shade, but I don’t have any use of an eye liner in this color. Heck, I rarely draw a line with a regular black eyeliner! I tried it on my eyelids and it runs a bit patchy without eye primer, so it is a must to apply it with primer. And I’m pretty sure this is just a teaser, so I can’t wear it as eye shadow all over my lids, therefore the remaining product in the tube will be of no use.
Lets move to the next item: blinkle Shimmer Eye Shadow by JCat Beauty in Tangerine Light:
This is the only sample that I absolutely have not intentions to use. I think I have a couple of eye shadows in my palettes that are dupes of this one, so better keep it closed and new to give it away to someone who will give it good use.
I saw a swatch at ipsy’s Instagram and it is super pigmented, also in another account of a lady who loves this brand is always recommending it. So it is a nice product according to the few post I’ve seen about it.
Fairy Lashes CURL Mascara by Jelly Pong Pong. This is a completely new brand of makeup for me, I have no knowledge if it is available at the stores. I just know this is the second time I see it is featured in a beauty subscription (ipsy and Boxycharm, but it was a highlighter the one featured in the last one)…
…anyways, it is water resistant and it promises to curl your lashes. Which it does good. BUT it is not super pigmented. So if you’re looking for a full effect close to dramatic falsies, then this one is not for you. This is more for those that don’t wear too much makeup but mascara is one of the few products they apply. I’m going to try and see if my fiber lash extensions (by Catrice) make this mascara to look better.
And last but not least:
Travel Size Glacial Cleansing Clothes by Skyn Iceland. This is the very first time in my life that I actually LOVED receiving a skincare sample that is not organic. These clothes are soooo good! It removed all of my makeup with just one single cloth (I was wearing foundation, concealer, mascara, eyebrow powder, blush, bronzer and highlighter). If you are wearing heavy makeup, two would be good enough to do the job.
As you might be thinking by now (if you read aaaaall of what I wrote here, thank you very much!), I liked my bag this month too, I am so happy I tried what I thought was not going to work for me! The bag is also so cute, very chic and it reminds me of the looks girls used to rock in the 70s.
Tell me what did you get! Did any of you received any of the brushes or the pomade? Did you like them? Are you a subscriber yet? Just $10 a month with free S&H! Please tell me in the comments!
